Community
We train together, and we take care of each other — inside and outside the gym.
The Self-Defense Collective is built on solidarity. That means supporting our training partners, but also recognizing our responsibility to the broader world we live in. This is not a place to go it alone — we lift each other up, and we show up for each other.
In practice:
Helping newer students get comfortable without condescension.
Organizing rides, food shares, or support when someone’s struggling.
Holding each other accountable to the culture and values of the Collective.
Engaging with the larger community — through mutual aid, outreach, or direct action — to extend the support we build inside the Collective to the world beyond it.
